One universal panel for every category on this page — length, weight, area, volume, speed, temperature and pressure. Choose a category, pick the two units, and alongside the result you get the conversion factor, its reciprocal and the value expressed in the base unit.

Example

Length · 100 cm → inches…

39.3701 in · 1 in = exactly 2.54 cm.

From millimetres to miles — and nautical miles for the sailors and pilots. Nine units anchored on the metre, using the exact international definitions (1 inch = 2.54 cm, 1 yard = 0.9144 m), so the factors never drift.

Example

5 km → miles…

3.1069 mi · also 1,640.42 ft · 19,685 in.

Mass across both systems: milligrams, grams, kilograms and tonnes on one side; ounces, pounds, stones and US tons on the other. The pound is pinned to its exact legal value of 0.45359237 kg.

Example

70 kg → pounds…

154.324 lb · 11 st 0.3 lb · 2,469 oz.

Ten area units from square millimetres to square miles, including the two that real estate actually speaks: hectares and acres. One click tells you what a listing's "1,200 sq ft" is in square metres.

Example

1 acre → square metres…

4,046.86 m² · 0.4047 ha · 43,560 ft².

From laboratory millilitres to kitchen measures: litres, cubic metres, and the full US customary stack — teaspoon, tablespoon, fluid ounce, cup, pint, quart and gallon. Note these are US units; the imperial gallon is about 20% larger and not included.

Example

1 US gallon → litres…

3.7854 l · 16 cups · 128 fl oz.

Five ways to say how fast: m/s, km/h, mph, ft/s and knots. The factors are exact — 1 km/h = 1/3.6 m/s, 1 knot = 1,852 m/h — so physics homework, road trips and sailing logs all agree.

Example

100 km/h → mph…

62.14 mph · 27.78 m/s · 53.99 kn.

Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin and Rankine — converted correctly through offsets, not just multiplication. The tool pivots through Celsius: F → °C subtracts 32 and scales by 5/9; K → °C subtracts 273.15; then out to the target scale.

Example

25 °C → everywhere…

77 °F · 298.15 K · 536.67 °R — pleasant either way you measure it.

Pascals, kilopascals, bar, psi, atmospheres and mmHg (torr) — the six units that show up on tire sidewalls, weather maps, dive computers and blood-pressure monitors. 1 atm is pinned to its definition: exactly 101,325 Pa.

Example

1 atm → psi…

14.696 psi · 101.325 kPa · 760 mmHg.

Built for runners: enter a distance and a time, and it returns pace per kilometre and per mile, speed in km/h and mph, plus projected finish times for 5K, 10K and the marathon at the same effort.

Example

5 km in 25:00…

5:00 /km · 8:03 /mi · 12 km/h → marathon ≈ 3:30:59.

Questions

Asked often, answered plainly.

( 02 )
Which unit systems are supported?

Metric and US customary. Volume uses US gallons, cups, tablespoons and teaspoons — the UK imperial gallon is about 20% larger and is not included. All factors use the modern exact definitions: 1 inch = 2.54 cm, 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg, 1 atmosphere = 101,325 Pa.

Why are temperature conversions not a simple multiplication?

Because the zero points differ. The converter pivots through Celsius: it first converts the input to °C (from °F: subtract 32, multiply by 5/9; from K: subtract 273.15) and then converts from °C to the target scale. A difference of 1 °C always equals 1.8 °F or 1 K.

How does the Pace Converter work?

Enter a distance (km, miles or metres) and the time it took. It returns pace per kilometre and per mile, speed in km/h and mph, and projected 5K, 10K and marathon finish times, assuming the same pace is held for the whole race.

Is the data I enter saved anywhere?

No. IrisTool has no backend and no database. All conversions run inside your browser tab and disappear the moment you close or refresh the page. Your values are never transmitted, stored or logged.
